CR-X can be utilized for both Operational Support (OSS) and Business Support (BSS) in the Telecommunications Industry. CR-X can also be used by Utilities and Financial Institutions.
CR-X extreme processing environment is ideal to manage the high call volumes found in large telecommunications carriers, Utilities with Smart Grids and Smart Meters, as well as high volume Financial Services Institutions. CR-X can be used to efficiently process every aspect of event capture, storage/retrieval verification, filtering, conversion and enhancement.
CR-X can be utilized in a wide array of applications such as Rating, Billing, Auditing, Market Analysis and Network Engineering.
CR-X offers Network Operators a single software tool that can alleviate the problems and massive costs associated with developing in-house processing software.
The Mediation function spans CDR and other data collection from the network, record validation and correction, call fragment aggregation, temporary call storage, reformatting and handover to the rating engine.
Batch file transfer (scheduled), real-time interfacing and proprietary message format conversion via pluggable data stream drivers
Imbedded, data dictionary defined, field level validation rules, capability to dynamically direct erroneous data to recovery files and the ability to view, correct and resubmit erroneous data after repair
Long duration call fragments aggregated, feature event records merged to form generic records, network switch proprietary formats converted to downstream CSV, fixed field or vendor formats
The CR-X platform offers a general purpose, high-speed rating engine with account plan aggregation. It includes a generic open architecture reference database structure. The rating function prices a call, solely based on variables within the call record. Subsequent re-pricing may occur if volume discounts, allowances, etc. are applied to aggregated call volumes.
Pricing and Discounting
CR-X is able to rapidly aggregate records by bill cycle against call type account and plan – calculating discounts and allowances and, if required, re-rate all calls after allowances and discounts are applied to ensure accounting accuracy. All of the necessary summarizations can be performed during this process.
The extended reference table required for pricing and discounting is compatible to the rating engine model and is managed in an equivalent manner.
The pricing and Discounting Framework also supports comparative analysis of a primary billing system’s outputs if the intended purpose is as an independent auditing engine.
The Interconnect Accounting Framework performs functions such as Call Detail Record validation, Identify Customer, Identify Supplier, Rate Calls for Customers, Rate Calls for Suppliers, Produce Daily Customer Revenue, Produce Daily Supplier Costs, Update Week-to-Date, Month-to-Date & Year-to-Date Customer Revenue & Supplier Revenue. This framework provides, in a highly modular and flexible architecture, the core functionality for many interconnect environments.
