Operational Data Store
The exceptional throughput and architectural features of CR-X enable the creation of very large transaction data stores with exceptional price-performance characteristics.
Configured as an operational data store (ODS), CR-X can support transaction capture rates in excess of 100,000 records per second using 'x86' commodity processors, delivering extreme performance at the lowest possible platform cost.
High storage throughput can be achieved at the same time as supporting broad transaction diversity from multiple batch/real-time streams with multiple record types per stream. In ODS, all transaction record types are stored in a simple, common file repository.
Because of the highly efficient open architecture storage format and linear scaling of ODS, the transaction holding time (months or years) is functionally unlimited and only determined by available physical storage.
ODS can provide both batch and random record retrieval services over massive data sets. Transaction search profiling is achieved over any combination of key field values and ranges (including regular expressions). A second stage retrieval can recover the exact binary format of the original record.
The ODS storage architecture also enables very efficient, minimal-resource, aged-record storage
